Welcome to the Global SimRacing Channel! We’re glad you’ve chosen us to broadcast your race, so to help you prepare and make the most of the opportunity, we’ve put this document together. This guide should answer any questions you may have and provide assets or guidelines to assist in the promotion of the event. Teamspeak GSRC uses Teamspeak for our broadcasts, which allows us to speak to drivers, marshals and other people involved with your event. We always encourage drivers to join our Teamspeak server so that we can interview them post-race (and sometimes during the race if they are unfortunate enough to retire early). Here’s how to sign in: 1.Download Teamspeak at this link: www.instantteamspeak.com//teamspeak-download.php 2.Install the program to your computer. 3.Sign in to our Teamspeak address: ts.bagango.com:9991 4.Please use your real name (no nicknames, so that we know who you are). A few other items to note: We share our Teamspeak with our friends at Bagango, so scroll past the Bagango channels until you see the GSRC channels. We don’t bother drivers when they’re on track; if we think it’d be a good idea to interview the driver while he’s on track, we’ll discuss it with the individual driver about it ahead of time. In our TeamSpeak server, there are several rooms. Please do not enter the Broadcast Booth, however, do join the Racing, Practice, Lobby or Ready For Interview room. •The Racing room is for drivers actively engaged in racing. Voice chat and text chat are strongly discouraged. •The Practice room is for drivers who are on track and are OK with voice or text chat, but would prefer that it be kept to some reasonable bounds. •The Lobby is where most drivers hang out before and after the race. Voice chat is available there (drivers are free to chat amongst themselves there about any subject), and we will occasionally pop in there (usually only during pre-race) to ask a question or clarify some point. If we want to interview you live, we’ll hop in there, check with you, and then move you to the Ready For Interview room. If you don’t want to be interviewed, mute your microphone or speakers — we’ll see the mute icon and will pass you by. •The Ready For Interview room is for drivers who are ready for an interview. Voice chat is not allowed in the Ready For Interview room. This is so that we can ensure that you’re not in the middle of talking when we move you live to the broadcast booth. You’re welcome to hang out in the Ready For Interview room; we will not interview you while you are on track without your prior apporval. If we want to interview you, we’ll check to see that you’re not busy on track and then will send you a TeamSpeak poke to see if you’re OK with being interviewed. One important point: please make sure your external speakers are muted so that they’re not picked up by your microphone when you talk. When that happens, it creates a horrible reverb and positive feedback loop. The Global SimRacing Channel strives for a family-friendly product, therefore, we ask that you refrain from offensive language while we are live on air. If you have a question and are unsure if we are live, feel free to “poke” one of our spotters by right-clicking their name and selecting “poke.” You can then type your question and we will try to answer it as soon as possible.
